Engaging students in STEM education is one of the most important factors in creating a knowledgeable, progressive workforce, from biomedical engineering to telecommunications to oil and energy to manufacturing, construction and maritime.
Career and Technical Education in St. Landry Parish focuses on developing curriculum and seeking educational opportunities necessary in developing Louisiana's future workforce. Beau Chene High School's Drafting and Design Technology program, part of the Louisiana’s Core Curriculum and JumpStart Program, seeks to train individuals in the areas of manual/board and CAD drafting techniques. With knowledge of drafting practices, standards and procedures, students are prepared to enter into a variety of professional as well as technical careers.
The Drafting & Design Technology program strives to fulfill the BCHS Mission Statement…
“To prepare students by providing them with opportunities that will enhance their self-esteem, develop their skills, and acquire the knowledge which will make them productive members of society.”
